Fresh Fears for Fannie, Freddie
Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac face greater scrutiny even as the Treasury denied reports of a meeting with Freddie Mac executives. The Beijing Olympics has the biggest TV audience in Olympic history, the International Olympic Committee said on Wednesday. Oil supplies gushed last week, but refiners continued to cutback on gasoline production, according to weekly government data. Conway Gittens reports from New York.
